With demand increasing for FiberLine Intervention (FLI) in the US, Well-SENSE has announced its investment in a 2,600 sq. ft. workshop and office space, to support in-house manufacturing and regional field operations. To date, the company has undertaken all manufacturing in the UK, so this facility will scale up capacity to support further US and global growth and will reduce lead times and shipping distances and the associated carbon footprint.
The company has been active in the US oil and gas market since 2017, providing a wide range of downhole surveys to solve complex E&P and P&A challenges in well integrity, cement integrity, flow profiling and vertical seismic profiling, delivering high-quality, data-driven answers.
Between 2019 and 2022 its US business saw a fourteen-fold increase in demand. In 2021, it entered a five-year agreement with Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL), which granted Halliburton exclusive rights to distribute and deploy FLI under the ExpressFiber™ brand in North America’s unconventional wells market.
Well-SESE CEO, Annabel Green, said: “Over the last 12 months we’ve seen an exceptional growth in demand across many countries, sectors and applications, so we’re very excited to be establishing a ‘made in the US’ manufacturing facility. We anticipate initial production rates to be around 200 probes a year, but the manufacturing equipment is easily scalable, allowing us to support our clients with an ongoing fast-track supply. Looking ahead we expect P&A integrity surveys, particularly in the Gulf of Mexico, to be a key area of growth for our service offering alongside geothermal and CO2 storage activity. We have already developed a successful track record in these areas, with live well interventions that have delivered industry-first results.”
